The Robin's Joy

"The Robin's Joy" excerpt from "Are You A Tree Yielding Fruit?"

“I will praise God’s name in song and glorify Him with thanksgiving.”
Psalm 69:30

THE ROBIN’S JOY
(joy – feelings of great happiness or pleasure, especially of an elevated or spiritual kind)

The robin sings in the morning full of joy and thanksgiving.
Man is full of sorrow and anger, jealousy, pride and deceit.
Yet, we were made in God's image.
Why are surrender, love and joy so hard for man?
Why did You give us choice?
Why did You give us our own free will?

Preachers partially preach Your Word.
People turn their backs on family or people in need.
They want no part of You, Lord.
The world or lost people are out for themselves.
But is this how you wanted man to live?
No! No! No!

You wanted us to be full of Your light, Your joy, Your mercy.
You wanted us to love our neighbor as ourselves.
You wanted us to walk with You each and every day.
You wanted to commune with us as friend to friend,
You wanted us to know the joy of the Lord.
You wanted just a relationship with us because you loved us.

You are The Creator of the Universe. Our great provider.
Your Only Begotten Son died on a cross for the sins of the world.
You left no stone unturned to restore fellowship with Your people
How sad You must feel when man will not listen, seek, or try to find You.
Yet we do not pray without ceasing, listen for Your still small voice,
Or seek Your guidance and companionship for our lives.

Today may we study Your word, seek Your knowledge and ask forgiveness
so we may be like the robin full of joy and thanksgiving.
May we find Your Son, Jesus, reflecting His light, so His death was not in vain.
May we have a song of forgiveness, a song of love, and a song of peace in our hearts?
May how we act and what we do, spreading Your love to others, be pleasing to You and may we bless You, Lord all the days of our lives.
